Pierre J. LaMere

(612) 396-9094

Pierre LaMere is an experienced, multidisciplinary advisor who helps organizations navigate complex challenges that cut across functions, geographies, and regulatory environments. Over a 35-year career he has built a rare ability to understand how decisions in one part of an organization ripple across others.

As Principal of West-Randolph LLC, Pierre works with senior leaders who need more than technical expertise. They need someone who can integrate various perspectives—regulatory, operational, financial, strategic—and develop solutions that work in the real world.

He helps organizations find clarity in ambiguous situations, align cross-functional teams, and make confident decisions in environments where the technical, operational, and regulatory elements are deeply intertwined. His clients value his ability to build rapport quickly, adapt to unfamiliar situations, and bridge conversations between teams that don’t necessarily speak the same language.

Pierre’s career includes more than 30 years at 3M, where he helped build and lead the Global Trade Compliance organization, managed sanctions and export-control responsibilities across 70+ countries, led the Trade Compliance aspects of more than 150 acquisitions and divestitures, and spearheaded development of the company’s enterprise-wide capital-investment decision process. He also served in leadership roles in manufacturing and supply-chain operations, giving him direct insight into how strategy and compliance intersect with day-to-day execution.

Most recently, Pierre served as Associate Director for Export Controls at Purdue University, working with faculty, researchers, and administrative leaders to strengthen institutional compliance and support complex, regulated research programs.

Pierre holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
